Star of India in Saarbrucken

One of my favourite restaurants in Saarbrücken. Have ordered Chicken Tandoori, Channa Vandaloo, Aloo Gobi&Dal and the various Pakoras many times and was always satisfied. The service is also very nice.

I can only recommend this restaurant. Not only in the lockdown phase where you can order and pick up the food, but also like that. We already have our favorite dishes. When the restaurant is open, the staff is very courteous, the food is great and the atmosphere is amazing.

Have ordered due to the pandemic and used the delivery service. Very friendly service on the phone with good advice, even if you haven't eaten Indian so often. Food came home fresh and hot in around 30 minutes. Papadams, tikka and lentil dal were delicious, plus two desserts and more rice than we could ever eat. The portions were very large. We will order again.

We got something to take away today and it was perfect from start to finish. From two very nice employees to delicious, rich and very warm food (when we were at home, it was still warm), everything was perfect. I can only recommend it. I like to come back again and again! It was even possible to use your own packaging for the food so as not to use so much plastic. Our order, consisting of a starter and a vegetarian main course, was accompanied by a cake on the house. Value for money was more than good.

Thanks to Covid-19 now also with delivery service. Since this week also delivers in the Saarbrücken city area. Fetched Nann, Murgh Saag and Tandoori Mix once. As always, it tastes really good. The portions are bigger than in our restaurant, there is enough for lunch tomorrow. There was a huge pot of basmati rice for each dish. That would have been enough for 4. A piece of delicious cake was also given as a small present. You just have to support. The restaurant is only open from 6 p.m. but you can also order from 5 p.m. We'll definitely do it again.

A real star, actually it's five stars. If you can drive to the restaurant you have to look for a parking space, the parking facilities in the immediate vicinity are very poor. As you enter the restaurant, you realize that the evening is going to be great. The smell of countless spices welcomes the guest. The small, cozy dining room is very cozy and inviting. The staff is nice, courteous, attentive and extremely friendly. The menu offers quite a lot of Indian dishes from chicken to lamb to fish. By the way, there is also information on the menu, for example that 80% of Indians are vegetarians. And of course vegetarian dishes are also on the menu. The lamb and chicken are tender as butter, the curry is nice and spicy but not too hot. The side dishes shouldn't be left behind, they are also very good. The Indian wines are recommended. The Star of India is one of the best restaurants I have visited and we will come back for sure. I have a clear recommendation for this restaurant.

Food is good and expensive, but probably for logistical reasons. The ingredients will not be available in the surrounding area. In other larger cities, price performance would not prevail

We really enjoyed dinner at the Star of India. We were delighted by the authentic North Indian cuisine. Each dish stood out from what we had previously eaten in other Indian restaurants. The excellent service in the chic, stylish restaurant also stood out from the usual. One thing is for sure, we will eat here again. Absolute recommendation.

Nice indian restaurant in upcoming area of Saarbrücken. The food tasted great, lots of nice herbs and spices in my tender lamb curry. Nice service. I've never been to india, but i imagine the food in Star of India is more like true indian food then many western-style indian restaurants are

Excellent service, very great and homemade food! I had the 35 (vegetarian) and it was exquisite! All portions were plentiful, except for the mixed thali, which was a bit small. Still 5 stars, gladly again!

Amazing Indian restaurant by Indian standard

The restaurant is small but comfortably furnished with Indian decoration. The food was very tasty. Especially the appetizers were very good. Everything was fresh. The selection could be a bit bigger in my opinion. The server was very attentive, friendly and could give recommendations.

Awful service. After making our order, the waiter has asked us to get out because we have only ordered appetizer and some tea. He claimed that they are not a pub and we have to order food. Also the choice is really poor, not even ginger tea in an Indian restaurant!

This restaurant is called star of India but no Indian there. Also cooks are not from India.You have to tell the cook which is Srilankan to make some good spicy food. Their gesture is not good.Food is ok.
